Joseph Samuel Specialties

A Word From Our Owner

Over the past several years, I have been involved in the furniture industry, working for a very large manufacturer/retailer, before opening the doors at Joseph-Samuel Specialties. In my past experience, I have managed raw material purchasing, been involved in design and product development, worked directly with manufacturing facilities, traveled to Asia to monitor products being produced offshore, and watched an enormous industry change as much in ten years as it has in the past 100. There was a moral imperative that was growing within me over the past several years. It was one that I could not deny or avoid. It didn't make sense at times, and seemed rather insane to many veterans of the business.

The imperative for me was to open a new furniture manufacturing operation in High Point, NC. While our plans unfolded, more and more facilities around us were being shuttered and equipment was auctioned weekly. Many large companies, as well as small family owned operations were going away rapidly. The tradition, pride, and heart of the industry seemed to be fading fast. We were certainly swimming upstream. Over the past two years we have moved the company from being a domestic sourcing agency, to a new manufacturing operation. We were proud to be American made. There are certainly challenges to this business model and we meet them daily. However, we understand that customers like you depend on quality products made by people that stand for the kind of integrity that we need in small business. We would like to thank you for considering us as a source for your specialty needs. we value the opportunity to serve you.
